Welcome back! Jordan again, teaching you valuable skills. This post is, How to write a song that will make it into the top 40's. Lets begin,
First off, you will need a variety of items. Things that you will need include,
1. Style/fashion sense. Being trendy is a HUGE part of this. If it came right down to skills, the top 40 would look quite different. So make sure you keep up on this seasons apparel.
2. Lighting and effects, yes, we're already talking about going on tour, that is how fast this 'how to' will shoot you to the top.
3. A catchy tune, it doesn't have to be good, in fact, i would suggest having it be pretty terrible, but something that everyone can get stuck in their heads.
4. One word you repeat at least five times in a row, six times throughout the song. It doesn't matter what it is, Preferably something like, love or air or something of the sort. People eat it up, it makes them feel smart that they know a decent amount of the song the second time they hear it so they can sing along.
5. Something to go along with three and four sort of, sing about either: something you have no idea what it actually is, random fluffy subjects like dancing, or rapping some gibberish within the song.
6. Finally, you will need either a bus, or a really nice car. So you can drive around the L.A. streets and have it be known, you have arrived!
Okay, how to do it, well.. I've given you the basic steps. You just have to put these steps into practice. Sort of, i wouldn't practice too much, you don't wanna sound like you've practiced for any real amount of time. So i guess I'd say, keep your voice on hold until the show you're about to play is ready to start, then just run on stage with a big smile. No warm ups needed! Look at you, you're a star, again folks, lets all remember to give credit where credit is due *cough cough* (Step 4 by: Brett Verlennich)

*!How to catch a bigfoot!*
Yes all, the mystery is finally unveiled! I Jordan will teach you the necessary steps to catching a real live bigfoot!. i say catching a big foot because lets be honest. There's more than just one. So, things you will need. Post list i will get into the actual steps needed to take in order to get one of these gentle giants.
1.Land in which a bigfoot colony can survive.(Including [but not limited to] a minimum of 500 acres with varying terrain, three small lakes, and one river.)
2a.Tantalizing food sources to draw the bigfoot family in. (This should be relatively easy due to the large amounts of wooded area and fields.)
2b. Bait, this goes along with the food sources in general. The food source may be enough to entice them, but if you want to maximize the bigfoot experience, you will want to set bait out for them. (Organic, naturally raised meat and poultry products.[we wouldn't want to upset any tummies].)
3.LOTS of camera equipment. I would suggest trail cameras that are motion activated. Mainly due to convenience, but you are welcome to buy whatever kind of video equipment you would like. I would suggest around 50 trail cams and 2 high quality digital SLR cameras for every field you have on your land. Yes i realize that is a large expenditure, but it will be worth it.
4.Large nets and rope. These are an essential part of the catching portion of, the act of capturing a bigfoot.
5.Tranquilizer gun. We here at Requiemforethics.blogspot.com do not endorse the illegal killing and poaching of any bigfoot.
6.A large sturdy cage and a flat bed truck. You will need these to transport your newly captured bigfoot to a scientific research lab (or my house).
7.Time, lots and lots of it. I'm not talking about the magazine either. I mean like, the scientific 4th dimension. The thing that ticks away and we all don't seem to have enough of.
Okay, now to the nitty gritty, where all the work comes into play... After acquiring all of the necessary land, you'll want to learn as much of it as possible, i would suggest multiple months of trail walking, wandering around the unknown areas. Make sure you take notes of things like, wild food sources i.e. wild berries, small game trails, fresh water sources, etc etc.
After you've surveyed the land and learned a majority of the secrets it holds, you are ready to begin the tedious process of setting up your trail cameras and first set of planted bait. The first set of bait you will want to set up are around river(s) and lakes, and have them hanging. I suggest you have them hanging, because if you don't, other critters will get to it before the bigfoot has time to. You also don't want to hang the bait right out in the open. Anything with a brain knows that something like that is normally too good to be true, so make sure that they are easily accessible, yet hidden enough to make them feel comfortable snatching up the goodies.
Places to put the cameras. I suggest putting a couple by the bait, but not by every one. Even though they are concealed and should be very hard to spot, mistakes can be made. So you'll want to place the rest of the cameras in places where a big foot might tread (game trails, along the river bank etc). For the open fields i would suggest having two, high quality, cameras at either end. Set these up to be on a time lapse system, taking pictures of the field every 20 minutes on a 10 minute interval. So every 10 minutes a picture is being taken. This way you are taking the same amount of pictures between the two cameras, but you are getting twice the coverage because it's like taking a picture every 10 minutes.
Once you get your first spotting of the bigfoot you'd like to catch, it's time to start thinking about net-traps. I personally would use these, because they are non-damaging to the creature. Yes you could use a bear trap or a snare if you wanted to harm the rarely seen creature. WE DON'T ENCOURAGE THAT! I suppose you could get another form of live trap like a cage,, but that would be much harder to conceal. And a pit-fall style trap could also harm the gentle giant. Therefore i would stick with the net. After you get a few more sightings of the bigfoot in question, and know where it's main food sources it likes to use and such, set your traps. Make sure they are strong and make sure you have the places that the trap is secured to are inaccessible to the trapped one, and hard to find to the unknown (other bigfoot that may try to help/rescue the trapped one). You will also want to make sure that the traps are as invisible as possible. Whether you cover it with leaves or other foliage, you need to make sure it is concealed.
If you have a trapped bigfoot that is in your net, you will need to get a way to get it down... This is where the tranquilizer comes in. After you subdue the primate with the tranquilizer, you will be able to lower him safely into the cage on the back of the flat bed truck. Please be aware that the cage may have to be very large, since the bigfoot can get over 7 feet tall and weigh over 600lbs. Once captured, take photographic evidence with one of the cameras of you with the bigfootcryptozologist, or wildlife research center.
What you do after you turn in your bigfoot is up to you, sell the land, keep the land and try and catch another, move to a desert island to get away from the media that is sure to hound you on, how you caught your bigfoot. Just remember, give credit where credit is due *cough cough*

My life as of last night
So, it all starts off with me talking to Sam. We talked about a couple things, but he had to go to supper. I had visitors over and none of us were hungry so we decided to just talk. After a while of talking things started to get a bit dry, so we called another mutual friend and we decided to drive to meet him in Brooklyn Park, which is a solid hour drive. So, we get there, as we drive around looking for the place we're gonna meet, we get a call from him. sure enough, he's not coming anymore. So, we went to white castle and got some food, sat around talking about what we should do. we decided to just go back to school and drop me off. So that's what we did. after retuning to my room, i talked with the guy that ditched us.. twas fun to be honest. Then kevin came on line.. we got into some pretty deep stuff. some of it was painful to hear, but it was good. i needed it. Kevin Miles, i love you, thanks. Moving on to today, i needed to study, alot. but do you think i did? if you guessed yes. you're wrong. of course i didnt, and now i'm procrastinating by writing here. it's pretty good.. i'm the only one awake in my room ( Jerry's not in here, but he's awake somewhere). although jordon is talking to me, but now he's quieted down and fallen asleep.. i wish i could go to sleep,, but i have a test tomorrow... that i have to study for.. biology.. why cant everything just be black and white. wouldnt life be so much easier? yeah sometimes it'd suck a whole ton more... but still. at least you'd get a straight answer.

My Tattoo's!
So, i'm super excited, i just got my third tattoo yesterday! it's the bible reference Luke 12: 22-34. it's ballin if i do say so myself.. Jesse was a great artist as well. we talked like the entire time. which i thought was cool. he may have gotten annoyed but i dunno, i feel like thats part of the job right? keeping your customer happy? we talked about music for a vast majority of the time. it was pretty great. it turned out to be only like 100$ (excluding tip). so i decided right there that i would make an appointment for my next tattoo with him. 'servant of God' in greek lettering is what it's going to be, Δούλος του Θεού , is what its gonna look like. on the inside of my left bicep. mm yeah, i'm pumped you better believe it!

A new spark of adventure
Alrighty! so, i was hanging out with my friend Ian watching a movie (after getting some jimmyjohns! WOOHOO!) when i got a call from Kelsey. Kelsey proceeded to tell me that Rich, the chapel coordinator from camp this last summer, also my prayer partner was here at Crown! so i told Ian and he said it was cool if i went to see him, so i did. after he left, i went and hung out with Mitch, the night watchman from camp. we got to talking and i told him about the opportunity i have in Nashville with that guy from a band and that a lot of the bands in the club 3 battle of the bands were less than impressive. so we got to talking about a band and how we may start one now. so, i'm going to buy a new guitar and some more equipment. and since i have a lot of time to practice, if all goes as planned, i'll be pretty dern good at the end of the semester/year.
Situation
So, here's the situation i'm faced with. English class, a rough draft of a paper is due and my microsoft word isn't working.. since it's not working, i cant write a paper. well oh well, i don't really care to be honest, i don't like that class. not because of the teacher or the writing itself, well part of it is the writing portion, but it's mostly the retarded freshman guys that sit in the back. now i realize i have a fair amount of maturing left to do, but come on guys, you're acting like three year olds. grow up.

Week/weekend
so, this past week, on tuesday my friend michael, from texas, came up to visit me for the week. it was an awesome time. pretty much just chillin, playing small world, and then a bit of M.O.A. , then some more small world. that game is seriously great, thank you michael. he sadly had to leave friday morning. after he left. i went back to sleep , got up at 1:30 and thought to myself. hmm, what should i do today? a couple hours later, my thoughts were answered. Zach k gave me a call and asked if i was going to go to the 09 staff reunion. i figured i might as well cause i didnt have anything else going on that weekend. he told me he could only be there for a couple hours anyway, so i figured that'd be a perfect option. just go chill with some great people for a couple hours then head back to school and sleep alot. once i got there everyone was so excited and just plain awesome to be around, i decided to stick around and hitch a ride with someone else. so, not really thinking about that, we all got ready to go to bed, (7 of us in a tent) i realized i only had one pair of clothes, and no tooth brush. so, needless to say i smelled fantastic the entire weekend. anyway, the first night started off pretty awesome, sneaking around, playing fireball, cramming 6 fully grown adults into a tractor tire.. you know, the norm. the next morning, i was woken to allyse saying good morning. this wouldnt have been a bad thing, except that i was the only one in the tent that actually got up, she went back to sleep along with the rest of the people.. Zach and allison were already outside so i just went and chilled with them. the day proceeded to be a good one. lots of random stuff, horse rides, serving a banquet for a bunch of women attending womens retreat. then that night 4 of us decided to go for a late night canoe ride. it was great. mainly cause i didnt have to do any work yah know? i sat in the middle with allyse while zach and allison did all the work. yah gotta love them wranglers. then after cole had gone to bed and zach left, allyse and i were left talking. it was nice getting to talk to her for once. i cant remember a time during the summer of 09 when i actually got the chance. i just wish we would've had more time to talk.. Next morning we all get up, pack up the tent and blankets and what not, say our goodbyes and head our separate ways. On the way back mitch and i stopped at burger king in st.cloud to get some food.. worst decision of the weekend by far. we both felt like throwing up in the car on the way back. the fries were nasty to say the least. but over all , the weekend was amazing and i'm super glad i got to stay for the entire thing. some pretty awesome memories were made.

Bathroom
Okay, so just a little bit of history with our bathroom, when i got here my first day, it was a horrible train wreck of a bathroom. it was the dirtiest bathroom i'd ever seen, honestly. so, after my parents bringing me supplies to clean it. I cleaned it up because i couldnt stand it anymore.. a few minutes ago i went in there to use it.. the floor was practically covered in mud and whoever used it didn't flush. the best part of it all is.. i know who did it.. NOT okay.

This day
From an academic stand point, this day was a failure, i missed all three classes. not just because i'm lazy, but i was sleeping. i'm fighting off some form of sickness. from a personal standpoint the day wasn't a complete loss. after waking up i played two games of smallworld with my friend and roommate, then we went to supper, played multiple games of fooseball, and chapel, now i sit here at my computer debating what to do next.

Boiling Lava Hot
Okay, so, for the past few nights we've had the pleasure of going to kwik trip at least once. Tonight was no different. This time it was for me, i wanted hot pockets. so, my roomie gets done with what he's doing and we head off. we get there, buy the goods and come back. while all this was happening i coudlnt help but think of Jim Gaffigan's sketch on hot pockets. so, we get back and i stick them in the microwave (because i'm too impatient to do them in the oven). once they're done being nuked i bring'em up stairs into my room and sit down infront of my computer and turn on the ufo hunters episode i'd been buffering for the last half hour. i was thinking to myself, this is pretty sweet, history channel show, food, and a decently comfy chair to sit in. so i take my first bite, and holy crap i wasn't prepared for it. Like gaffigan says, it's either frozen or boiling lava hot (mine being the latter of the two). my lip now has what feels like third degree burns on it and half of my taste buds are gone. in the end, was it worth it? i dunno, i'll let you know when i finish eating them.
The morning
Ugh, that's how i started my morning off. I had a hard time to say the least, i just kept telling myself "You like biology, it'll be fun!" (it's an 8am class). i was out of it for half of the class, thinking about completely random subjects. i managed to scribble down two pages of notes somehow though. but yikes, if things don't turn around, this will be a long semester. i really just want summer to get here. i'd rather work at camp or out in the middle of no where than sit in class and get mediocre grades.
What the future holds
Well i cant say of course what the future holds for me. I'm no prophet. But i'll tell you what i'm going for, or at least what this next summer is shaping up to be. First, a quick back story. At the end of this last summer of working at Camp Lebanon, during my exit interview, Pete (the program director) asked me if i would want to work there again next summer if i got the chance. Instantly i said yes, because that summer was easily the best summer of my life. For this next summer however, I've been looking into this thing called Montana Conservation Corp. Don't get me wrong, i would LOVE to work at Lebanon again and will if i get the chance, but I was actually looking at it for the past summer, but it just didn't work out (mainly due to the fact that i didn't get my application in). Also, for a soon to be biology major, this seems to be a perfect fit. So i figure this summer i hope to be in Montana, from May - October (2011). Then the next summer, assuming everything goes as planned, i'd be a Crew Leader for the Youth Crew. You end up working with two different groups of teens throughout the summer, leading them on month long expeditions. By expeditions i mean you teach the kids to be active members of the community. You also teach them a random assortment of outdoorsy things, including trail maintenance. All while teaching them to be good leaders and what not. It sounds pretty freaking awesome i think. Alas, what i do is not my choice, nope. It's God's choice. I can only pray about what he wants me to do. I'm still completely open and willing to go overseas as a missionary, but even after only two weeks of being an I.C.S. major i feel like it's not right. I LOVE my bio class, my other classes are alright, but biology trumps the rest. If things go this way and i got to be involved with MCC like i'm hoping, after doing those two "terms" i would go back to school and finish up my degree in biology. Then start looking for a job as a park ranger. Like i said though, it's not up to me, it's in the hands of The Creator.

The beginning requiem

My first lucid dream
The first experience i ever had was just recently actually, i kept dreaming that i was waking up and just checking the clock, then i'd go back to sleep, wake up a few minutes later and check the clock again. (I thought this was all actually happening while it was going on). Finally i tried the clock method of reality checking. sure enough, the clocks were off and the date was wrong on my computer. I remember i was incredibly excited, i was finally lucid dreaming. So i started to think of what i wanted to do, and what i wanted to do was talk to my friend. So, sure enough she started coming into focus in my room, i couldn't believe it was actually happening. Just as quickly as the dream came, i woke up. My heart was racing like i'd just ran across the country. Excitedly i woke my roommate up and told him about it. He just rolled over and when back to sleep. It was still early in the morning the clock said, so i got back into bed and went back to sleep. when i finally woke up for good, i asked Jordon (my roommate) about waking him up. Turns out i just had a dream where i was lucid dreaming. how's that for trippy? i however, am not discouraged by the lack of having a "true" lucid dream. i just figure we all need to start somewhere, so i have my start. Now it's time for the real thing!
Lucid Dreaming
So for the last couple of weeks, i've been trying to lucid dream. it's an insanely cool concept/thing if you can do it. Let me just tell you,, it is EXTREMELY hard to do. Some things you're supposed to do just to get you started.
Reality checks - Throughout the day every hour or so, make sure what you're experiencing is real life. It sounds silly and pointless, but it's needed. Some examples of reality checks; clock checking. exactly what it sounds like, glance at a clock, look away for a few seconds and then look back. if the time is the same (or a minute after) you're probably not dreaming. for some reason, in dreams clocks don't seem to work the way they should, don't ask me why, but they don't. That is actually the way i experienced my first lucid dream, was by using this method. Another method of reality checking, is simply pinching your nose closed, keeping your mouth shut, and trying to breath. this one is a little more reliable in the sense that, you HAVE to breath when you're awake, but when you're in a dream, there's no need!
Next up for getting started on lucid dreaming is, keeping a dream journal. When you remember a dream in the morning, exciting as it is, DON'T hop out of bed and run to your journal, lay in bed with your eyes closed and think about the dream and every detail you can remember until you are sure you have it down. I've made the mistake of getting up right away then forgetting the dream ten seconds later. Again, i dunno why it happens that way, but it does.
